Louise Pitman-Jones Assistant Programme Manager
After completing her degree in German and Spanish, which involved a year abroad teaching, Louise initially focussed on using her language skills in her work for her employer. However, the enjoyment she had teaching children as part of her degree quickly led her to apply for a place on the Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) which she successfully completed in 2005.
During her teaching career, Louise has taught across the primary age range, and has held a wide range of middle and senior leadership positions. This has included being Head of School when her school was in partnership with another primary, under the guidance of an Executive Headteacher. When this collaboration ended, she stepped up to become Interim Headteacher. Much of Louise’s leadership experience has involved collaborative work with partner schools and specialist teachers, which she has really enjoyed. She is particularly proud of winning a national science award for a collaborative project she worked on.
Louise’s most recent role has been Deputy Headteacher of a primary school near Chippenham and throughout her ten years there, she has been responsible for supporting trainee teachers and early career teachers. It is this love of mentoring, supporting and inspiring other colleagues that was the driving force behind the move to her current role of Assistant Programme Manager at NW SCITT.
